James McLellan is the president and founder of McLellan Financial Services and a wealth manager with more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. Over the course of his career, Jim has worked with a number of individual, municipal, and corporate clients, offering investment management, financial services, and wealth management.
Jim first started his career in the real estate industry, before transitioning into financial services. He served as Vice President of A.G. Edwards and Prudential Financial before founding his own firm, McLellan Financial Services.
Jim holds securities registrations 5, 6, 7, 63, and 66, and is licensed in Michigan and other states for insurance and variable annuities. He studied business law at the University of Michigan. Passionate about education, and hosts Social Security seminars at the campus for clients, students, and community members.
Jim is not only a respected investment professional, but also a trusted member of his Oakland, Michigan community. He is a past member of the Oakland County Michigan Sheriff's investment advisory committee, and was previously involved with the Warren Michigan Police Department Fraternal Order of Police.
Jim and his wife live in Rochester, Michigan and share four children, all of whom have left the nest and have graduated college. Outside of the office, he enjoys biking, playing golf, and coaching basketball and hockey.
